My little secret...

Please don't judge me for what I am about to admit.... I am one of THOSE people. I have had Christmas music playing in my car/ computer/ iPod since October... They started playing it on the radio at work and I love it while everybody else bitches that they have to listen to it. I LOVE CHRISTMAS and everything that comes with it. I love the familyness, the fireplaces being lit up and warm, I love the smell of pine/ cookies/ moms chili/ hot chocolate/ spiced apples/ the tri-tin popcorn that you can only get around Christmas, I love the Christmas movie marathons then have during the holidays, I love being able to wear my PJ's around the house all day long, I love that all the window displays are sparkling and shiny, I love being around the people that I love. I just feel so alive around this time of year. I can't say that I ALWAYS have enough money for Christmas gifts but I somehow manage to check everybody I know off of my list. I get very moviesque during October-January... Just happy all the time.
That was my confession.

SPT #6

Todays SPT... Ladies and Gents, here it is.

Dirty Dishes alternatives...

So nothing has changed.... The dishes are still piling up in the sink and his level of care has not changed except for the fact that he was mad at me because of my new decorating system in the kitchen...(or maybe its because he realized it was directed at him). Either way my opinion was heard and ignored, so I have come up with a few new possible solutions:

Option 1: when the dishes reach the ceiling next, I am going to remove all of them, fill every cup and plate and bowl with water and place them ALL OVER the floor (kitchen, hallway, and living area) so they can either walk around them or they can pick them up... And we have enough that it will be difficult to walk around if they choose to do so.

Option 2: the next time the dishes get out of control I will take them and throw them in his friggen bed and then ask him how he likes filth in his living space.

Option 3: over the month break that we have coming I am going to box ALL flatware up and take it all home except for one of each of the following:
A bowl
A cup
A plate
A fork
A spoon
A knife
A pot
and A pan
He is going to be the only one here so by removing EVERYTHING else I am helping him wash what he needs when he needs it.

Option 4: I can totally ignore the issue and buy all paper products and use only disposable items and let them worry about it.... I really don't want to have to do this because I will in fact go crazy if I have to watch the mold culture continue.

Option 5: I go and break every dish in the kitchen out of rage and anger

Option 6: I calmly go talk about it with him and set up a schedule even though he will not adhere to it. I know this for a fact.

I will admit that at the moment my personal space is in total chaos, I can't get to the laundry room because the jackass downstairs wants to collect mildew by leaving his clothes in the washer for three days. I need some sort of order or I seriously get a little crazy and cannot do anything until I get the mess cleaned up. The kitchen is killing me. What option would you pick?

Dirty Dishes

I walk down stairs today to make myself a bowl of soup. I make my way through the jungle of garbage and the valley of dirty dishes to go reach for a clean bowl to put my soup into. Open the cabinet door and feel around for something but alas nothing. I notice the sink FULL of dirty dishes and assume that the dish washer is full, but to humor myself I open the D-washer door and it is more empty than full. I begin to get intensely irritated and irrational about not having a bowl to put my soup in because SOME PEOPLE are too lazy to clean their own messes. (I need things to be clean and organized or I get frustrated and I become obsessed about the mess that never goes away).I frantically and angrily start to clean the kitchen with napkins and 409 because that's really all we have in the house before I resort to using my spit and pieces of sketch book paper to clean the damn COMMUNITY kitchen. I make as much noise as possible so that my two adult children come downstairs to see what all the noise is about... They walk in the room within a 15 minute window of when I begin banging pots and pans on the floor. I silently go collect all the dirty dishes from the living room and kitchen and put them into the sink for myself to hand wash them. Meanwh

ile the two boys are standing there watching me do all of this. Roommate A begins to help, drying the dishes as I pump them out of the sink... Roommate B continues to stand there and feel as though he is helping just by standing in the room alone. It takes him a few minutes but he finally gets the hint and takes out the mountain of trash that we have created. I explain that I am tired of looking at dirty dishes in the sink to both of them... And that I am tired of cleaning things that I do not make dirty. My cleaning rant included: the stove, the MWave, the floor, the counter tops, emptying and restarting the dish washer, and hand washing all the damn dishes in the sink. After my frenzy with the 409 I go upstairs without soup, and at this point I am rather pissed off. A few hours pass and I realize that I am still hungry. So I walk to the kitchen and there in the sink is a huge pot, a glass, and a fork. The dishwasher is still full of the clean dishes that I ran earlier. I get so mad that I run to my room and grab a stack of post-it notes, a marker and some tape and run back to the kitchen. I post-it the entire kitchen... I have supplied you with photos, more at my flickr account but this is what it became. I am hoping that after this little outburst they will understand that I am upset.... Let us hope.

blogger has become the new battle zone

(Announcer voice) "Well the Good Guys have done it again! Another nasty brawl but they always manage to come out on top".

Sure we were attacked by surprise (twice) but we collectively did our best to protect each other and I think it MAY be over.... Who knows we may just see the infamous "Lawryde" again one day. But next time we are gonna get out the big guns *wink wink*

SPT Week 5

ok...so here is my contribution for this week, maybe it will be better than last weeks. I wasn't too satisfied with my last spt.

Crap cycle sleep.

The good sleep doesn't exist anymore, I've decided. I haven't slept in three days and I am getting annoyed about it. Yesterday I slept for about 8-9 hrs but it just felt like I laid in my bed with my eyes closed for those 8-9 hrs... Not real sleep but that fake stuff. Last night I did the same, I went to sleep and physically got about 7 hrs and woke up with a migraine the size of Texas. It's not a hangover, normally you would think you must ingest alcohol to produce a hangover but not in my case. I apparently wake up with headaches for the sake of something to talk about now (not really)... I am exhausted. I want regular R.E.M. cycle sleep. I can't even try to nap today because I have to get as much of that Monopoly board done as I can so I can dedicate the rest of my time to my "Punk Art Movement" presentation. So if you by chance know any solid information about that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share your knowledge. I know that SPT is today but it is going to have to wait until after lunch today...I'm thinking 2 pm or so. I just need some time to feel better and get into the digital mood.
