her husband died...
A woman's husband dies. He had left $30,000 to be used for an elaborate funeral.
After everything is done at the funeral home and cemetery, she tells her closest friend that "there is absolutely nothing left from the $30,000."
The friend asks, "How can that be?"
The widow says, "Well, the funeral cost was $6,500. And of course I made a
donation to the church -- that was $500, and I spent another $500 for the wake, food and drinks -- you know. The rest went for the memorial stone".
The friend says, "$22,500 for the memorial stone? My God, how big is it?"
The widow says, "Four and a half carats."

The case of the Missing Bag
ok... I have begun the cross state move this past weekend. I packed up the bags and boxes and loaded it all into my car, or so I thought. I packed a bag of NEW clothes(shopping spree at The grand ole TJMaxx) to wear while I was home, along with my flat iron and a few other things that I use daily. Well I packed everything Wednesday night so I would be ready to drive after class on Thursday. Thursday morning I was going to throw the make-up and the contact stuff into the same bag but the bag was nowhere to be found. Not in my room....I figured I just packed it under the boxes that were already in my car. It was packed to the roof, I fit as much crap as I could into the jeep. I just don't want to be here anymore. So I drove to class and left immediately after. I make the long trek across the state back to Atlanta and I start unloading the car and the bag is not there. Its not there. WHERE is it? My room is empty so its not hard to look in here, I didn't leave it in the kitchen or living room. I even looked in my shower and cabinets to see if I was just being strange and absentminded... But I wasn't. My sister made that bag for me. I LOVE that bag. The only other possibility I can think of is that when I was loading my car on Wednesday night I just left it in the street on accident and it was stolen. That would be totally out of character for me but it could happen. Or my roommates thought it would be funny to take it and hide it but I doubt it... They don't really move that much and for them to get out of their computer chairs would be for something made of pizza or free beer. It really bothers me that I don't know where this bag is.

momma
This is my mom.
This is my mom in 1982.
This is my mom two years before I was born.
This is my mom at twenty two years old.
This is my mom at my age now.
She was married in this picture.
I wonder what her dreams were.
I wonder if life turned out the way she thought it would.
I wonder if she is disappointed or has regrets.
Is she happy?

Maternal Sunday
Today I have this overwhelming need to take care of something. Ok, so maybe its not just today.... I think I might get a puppy when I move back home. But the problem is that I can't decide what kind I want to get.

I have narrowed it down to two choices:
Basset Hound:I had a Basset Hound as my first pet. I think my parents got Missy when I was 2? I loved that dog. Told mom I kinda wanted a basset and she said they have this strange odor... I don't really like strange odors.
Boxer: I LOVE this breed. I have had a few boxers growing up and they are absolutely wonderful dogs. They are a sporty, active, affectionate, and overall fun type of animal. I might just keep up this little family tradition.
I'm too busy for a tiny teacup anything, I could go for something big like a greater Swiss mountain, or a great Dane but they eat a TON. dunno... What to do.

MERLIN WORKS FOR SCAD!!!

Oh My God. Mia Merlin teaches at Scad-Atlanta. I took a painting class in the fall of 2004 at Kennesaw State University. I came home every day from this class in tears because she would tell me that I am just not a painter. She said that I don't think in shapes but in line. If you think in terms of shapes it is how painter think about placement and application of paint. You put shapes inside of shape inside of shape and color next to color. I thikn in terms of line, contour lines, directional lines, drawing basically. I can rock a pencil but when it comes to a paintbrush I am intimidated. This woman would tell me flat out that she didn't think I would be a painter. Ask 006.. I would come over every day after this class and cry on his sofa because of this woman. I tried so hard in that damn class. I thought I would never have to see her again... and she works at Scad-Atlanta. CRAP.
